Ordinary Kids - Extraordinary Deeds Candace always encourages everyone (even if they don’t do good at all!) Gerardo apologized today when he was being mean. He changed. Koa is working at being everybody’s friend. I was walking home all by myself and Koa noticed. He came up to me and said, Do you want to walk with me today? I did not know how to throw a football. Nobody would let me be on their team. Some kids at school spent their recess teaching me how to throw a football. I can play with all of the other kids now. Thanks! Chelle was a really good sport when she lost at Around the World. She even congratulated the winner. I saw Karli be nice to a boy that was teasing her and being mean. Today I kept messing up in our group. Vanessa never got mad at me. She just kept smiling at me and saying, Good job. Keep trying. I have some problems with my legs. Four kids helped me at recess instead of playing football. It was nice. I am a sixth grader. Today I found some first graders who needed a friend. I played with them at recess. They were cute. Hailee saw that I was having a hard time in class. She asked me if she could come over and help me with my homework. Shannon is always making sure that everyone feels good about themselves. I never got a point on the math game today. We were almost finished and I finally got a point. Heather came over to my desk and gave me a big hug. She said, “Good job! Someone helped me memorize a poem for school. I taught some second graders how to play tetherball. Jesse said that I could play football… even though I am a girl. I saw someone thank the bus driver for a ride to school. Today it was raining. Heather shared her umbrella with her little brother and his friend. There was a third grader carrying a lot of things. Kayla asked if she could help her carry them into the school. I saw three sixth grade boys help a neighbor unload her car and carry her groceries into the house. I watched some kids pick up trash on the playground today. They didn’t have to. They just wanted to help. We were playing four square outside. Anna’s little brother came up and said, ‘Hi.’ Instead of telling him to go away, she gave him a hug. It was cool. “Some boys shoveled our sidewalk today. Instead of having a Christmas party, the sixth graders made lunches for the homeless shelter. Everyone brought stuff to donate. It was really neat. “Someone gave Miss Hill flowers today. “Mrs. Pike smiles at everyone. It feels great! I saw one of my classmates give up his seat on the bus so that his sister could sit by her friend. “Austin gave his Halloween candy to his friends who did not get as much. |
